Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE), represented by Physical Education Department of the Educational Guidance Department, concluded the annual meeting for the professional development of physical education teachers.
The three-week professional development forum was attended by approximately 2,250 male and female physical education teachers and practical education students at Qatar University, who benefited from more than 25 training hours varied between theoretical frameworks and practical applications.
The forum included two workshops for practical applications of what was gained during the programme, and they were entitled 'An applied exercise on sports training curricula in physical education, and applications on basic physical skills', which were presented by trainer Karim Qabbari, the Physical Education Coordinator at Ahmed bin Rashid Al Muraikhi Primary School for Boys, with the support of Faisal Al Badr, and under Supervision of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
The workshops included applied exercises for sports training curricula and how to integrate them with the physical education curriculum to develop elements of physical fitness for students and to raise awareness of the importance of regular physical activities to acquire a healthy and active lifestyle.
