With the weekend upon us and the weather being so favourable we have lined up a few interesting events for you all ranging from live concerts to open markets and indoor exhibitions.

Solar Art Festival

The MENA region’s first Solar Art Festival is a fun filled two-week festival that promotes and celebrates sustainability and the use of solar energy.

The Festival brings together solar art commissions by world’s most established solar artists. There will also be artworks by students from around Qatar, in addition to an exciting program of hands-on interactive solar learning activities.

Atif Aslam Concert Live in Doha

Pakistani singer, renowned for his numerous super hit Bollywood songs, Atif Aslam will be in Qatar to mesmerize and capture the hearts of his fans. The award-winning artist will be performing for the second time in Doha since his last visit in July 2010.

Yuva Awards 2017

The first edition of Yuva Awards, that focus on selecting young personalities from India, will be held in Qatar. The ceremony will honour those who have made a difference and inspired the youth along with a few noted personalities from Qatar.

South Indian film actors Dulquer Salmaan, Arya, Shruti Haasan, Manju Warrier, Parvathy, Tovino Thomas, Innocent and Manoj K Jayan, along with sports personalities Sreejesh and P U Chitra are some of the known names who will attend the ceremony. Performing artistes include Madhu Balakrishnan, Sithara, Baby Shreya, Mia, Shamna Kasim and more.

‘Say no to drugs’ is the slogan for the campaign.

Torba Farmers Market

Qatar Foundation (QF) has partnered with Torba Farmers Market, a Qatar-based initiative that aims to deliver organic and locally-grown food and homemade products, to host a weekly market.

A wide-range of fresh, locally-grown items will be on offer, including organic fruits and vegetables, homemade preserves, syrups, and butters, as well as handicrafts and gardening supplies.  

It will be open to the public every Thursday from 9 am to 4 pm and Friday from 8:30 am to 10:30 am and resuming at 2 pm upto 5 pm.

Great Indian Mela

As the name says, the Great Indian Mela is a fair of Indian street food, music and quiz. The InterContinental Doha The City ballroom will come alive with music and various competitions including Bollywood and Antakshari (a popular parlour game).

The chefs at InterCon will be taking everyone on an Indian Street Food journey with their amazing culinary experiences.

Souq Nama

Souq Name is an exhibition offering local products to the public. The exhibition includes 34 different sections, such as perfumes, clothes, candles, food, and beauty products.

Some of the companies participating include Barazan Palace Hospitality, Samona and Chai, Honey Producer Bu Saif Apiaries, Taraf Perfumes, Candles Passion and Aland Al Ghamdi Photography. The exhibition also has a section for creative individuals such as photographers, painters and other artists.
