Pakistan International School (PIS) has incorporated educational trips as the school’s annual spectrum. Keeping in view, the administration of PIS arranged a field trip to Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) for students.
On January 9, 48 students (girls) of grade XI and XII (Commerce and Business Group) accompanied by their teachers Irum Younas and Mariya Asif visited Qatar Stock Exchange for an informative and interactive session on the know-how of the capital market.
The students were taken to second floor where Mohsin Mujtaba, Director of Product and Development, warmly welcomed them.
Mohsin delivered a brief presentation on the Qatar Stock Exchange. The session started with a briefing about the history of QSE and how it has grown to become one of the leading stock markets in the Gulf Region. The students were further briefed on the working of QSE. The resource person explained all the main terminologies and jargon used in the stock exchange. All the students were really interested in the way the director spoke dropping examples from time to time using very interesting facts. After the presentation, the students attended a question and answer session and noted down all the details in their note pads.
After the question answer session, the students were taken to visit the building of QSE in order to get first-hand knowledge of the Exchange. In the end,the students enjoyed a sumptuous lunch.
After this explorative and informative tour, the students left for school around 12:15pm. “We are highly obliged and thankful to the school administration, especially Principal Madam Nargis Raza Otho for organising such an informative and productive trip for us. We all found ourselves getting a clearer picture of the stock market and the actual transactions happening within”, said Anmol Chohan, a student of XII C.
Indeed this visit has provided a great opportunity to Commerce and Business Students in getting first -hand knowledge of the Qatar Stock Exchange. It has helped them to learn through real life experience. Most importantly, it will help them to sail through their Commerce Monthly Test.
For boys, grade XI and XII students (Commerce Group) were provided with a maiden opportunity to visit the Exchange. The said group of students, along with their teachers Rashid Latif, Shahab Gilani, Iqbal Khan and Hafeez, were accorded a warm welcome by Mohsin Mujtaba.
The students expressed their profound interest in the ways which prompt the clients to deal in the sale and purchase of shares i.e. Fundamental Analysis, Technical Analysis & Sentimental Decision. The host also shared handy information about the Index in general and Qatar Stock Exchange Index Methodology, in particular.
The said tours were in line with the school management’s commitment to keep its students abreast of the latest innovations and research works in various domains. It was organised with a view to transmit cutting-edge information to the students of commerce group about the functioning of the stock exchange which surely supplements and enhances their teaching learning process.
