In continuation of its pioneering role in spreading awareness in society, Qatar Media Corporation launched a new Twitter account (@covid19qatar) with the aim of publishing developments related to the efforts to address Covid19 pandemic and reduce its spread.
“In order to provide reliable news and awareness, Qatar Media Corporation launched a website and a Twitter account under the name @covid19qatar. The new platform provides content in more than one language and strengthens the institution's role in raising awareness of the Coronavirus and demonstrating government and community efforts in combating the epidemic,” H E Sheikh Abdurrahman bin Hamad Al Thani, Chief Executive Officer of QMC, said.
The new account will provide an important source of reliable and official news about the coronavirus epidemic, which will contribute to fighting rumours and fake news.
The account will also be a live interactive platform for community outreach and the publication of the latest recommendations, medical advice, and other important information to the public.
The new account posted a video clip showing the latest epidemiological updates and statistics in Qatar as of April 15.
