H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, chaired the Cabinet meeting this afternoon through video conferencing.
The cabinet stressed on the continuation of precautionary and preventive measures taken to combat this epidemic, in a regular session held today. The extension will be for a period of two weeks during which the situation will be evaluated to take the appropriate decision.
The Cabinet decided the following:
First - Extending its decisions issued regarding:
1- Reducing the number of employees present at the workplace in government agencies.
2- Reducing the number of workers present at the workplace in the private sector.
3 - The working hours for employees and workers at their workplace in the government and private sectors will be six working hours per day, starting from 7am until 1pm.
4 - All meetings held for employees and workers in the government and private sectors located at their place of work (remotely) shall be made using modern technical means.
5 - Suspending the temporary home services system provided by cleaning and hospitality companies.
6- Reducing the number of workers who are transported by buses to half the capacity of the bus, taking into account the taking of precautionary measures.
7 - The Ministry of Commerce and Industry to keep intensify inspection procedures on food outlets and restaurants to ensure that they comply with health requirements and preventive and precautionary measures, including leaving the safe distance between customers.
Second - the continuation of the previous exceptions decided by the Council of Ministers.
Third - With this decision effective from Thursday 16/4/2020 for a period of two weeks, the situation will be evaluated during this period to take the appropriate decision.
