DOHA: Drake & Scull Qatar (DSI Qatar) has been awarded a QR180m contract to execute Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) works for a residential project, a press statement said yesterday.
The contract is the latest in a series of multi-million deals sealed by the wholly owned subsidiary of Drake & Scull International PJSC (DSI), a regional market leader in integrated design, engineering and construction disciplines of Civil Contracting and MEP works in the field of Water, Power, Rail, Oil and Gas.
“This latest project will definitely push our momentum towards second quarter (Q2) of this year and beyond as we benefit from market drivers such as the upcoming World Cup and aggressive national development initiatives. Doha in particular will continue to see major infrastructure projects emerge this year and we are well equipped to compete in major tenders, particularly in the MEP and utilities sectors this year. Mobilization on the latest project will start immediately with an estimated completion date set for the fourth quarter of 2014,” said Karem Akawi (pictured), Area General Manager, Drake & Scull Qatar.
Earlier this year, it was awarded a QR304m contract for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of all MEP works of a mix use real estate development project in Qatar.
