Poor horizontal visibility makes driving a challenge in Qatar

Doha: Dense fog continues to form in Doha and eastern-northern coasts of Qatar said the Qatar Meteorology Department in a tweet.

The fog is expected to dissipate in next two hours. Meanwhile driving on the streets is a tough task with the motorists warned to be alert while driving.

Ministry of Interior also tweeted warning motorists of the slow movement of traffic due to low visibility in most areas. 

The weather department also said that there are high chances of fog building again tonight.

While few of the locals decided to head late to their offices, some of them opted to leave early and drive slowly to their destinations. 

Meanwhile, in its daily report, it said that weather inshore until 6 pm will be hazy to misty or foggy at places at first, becoming mild temperature during daytime and cold by night.

Offshore, it will be hazy to misty or foggy at places. The Department warned of strong fog at places.

Wind inshore will be variable less than 05 knot at first, becoming mainly southwesterly to northwesterly at a speed of 05 to 15 knot. Offshore, it will be southwesterly to northwesterly at a speed of 03 to 12 knot.

Visibility will be 04 to 08 kilometer or 1 kilometer or less at places at first.

Sea state inshore will be 1 to 2 feet. while offshore it will be 1 to 3 feet.
