Doha: The third Souq Waqif International Dates Exhibition kicked off yesterday in the eastern arena of Souq Waqif.
As many as 95 companies representing seven countries Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Algeria, Oman, Pakistan and Sudan are participating in the exhibition. The exhibition will run until February 24, 2025, allowing visitors to learn about the finest types of dates and their various products.
The exhibition receives its visitors daily from 9am to 12pm and 3:30pm to 10pm. The exhibition features a wide range of products, along with improvements in the manufacture and packaging of dates, enabling a rich experience that meets the aspirations of consumers and merchants alike.
Khalid Saif Al Suwaidi, General Supervisor of the exhibition, said: “The organisation of the third Souq Waqif International Dates Exhibition comes at an important time, ahead of the blessed month of Ramadan when dates are getting an increasing demand as an essential part of the Ramadan table. The exhibition aims to provide the finest types of dates and their products to visitors and consumers, in addition to supporting producers and traders in reaching wider markets.”
He stressed that the criteria adopted in the selection of exhibiting companies focused on the quality of products, adherence to health and food standards, and the ability to provide competitive products that meet the local market’s needs. The exhibition also witnessed a great turnout from Qatari companies, reflecting the increasing growth of the dates industry in Qatar, and the commitment of local producers to provide high-quality dates that compete with regional and international products.
Al Suwaidi added, “The exhibition is an important opportunity for exhibitors and visitors alike, as it provides an integrated platform for communication between producers, suppliers, and consumers and highlights the latest innovations in the dates sector.
