Doha: Qatar University (QU) improves 100 places in the 2023 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings, placing among the top 250 universities worldwide.
The rankings evaluate 1,799 institutions and are the only global performance tables that judge research-intensive universities across all their core missions: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook. The University also maintains its spot among the top ten in the international outlook indicator for the 8th year running.
This achievement is all the more impressive as 137 new universities were ranked this year. The main improvement in scores was on the research and citations pillars, a sign of excellence and of the positive impact of the support in research funding provided by the State of Qatar.
QU President Dr. Hassan Al Derham commented on the achievement saying, “Excellence is at the heart of Qatar University’s vision. We are very pleased to see the University place highly on the prestigious THE World University Rankings, as it reflects the effort and commitment the University continues to undertake to further cement its position globally. This advancement in our ranking also acknowledges our achievements in academia in terms of the quality of our programs, research and services.”
