For the first time in 40 years, the World Arabian Horse Championships (WAHC) will be organised outside France as the Cultural Village Foundation, Katara will host the 2023 and 2025 editions of it.

A strategic partnership agreement towards the event was signed by Katara General Manager Prof. Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti and Jean-Luc Poulain, President, Centre National des expositions et concours agricoles S. A. (CENECA) during the Katara International Arabian Horse Festival (KIAHF 2022) activities at the Katara Espalande yesterday.

Al Sulaiti stressed that this agreement consolidates Qatar’s position globally in the field of equestrianism and interest in purebred Arabian horses. It also confirms the high reputation enjoyed by KIAHF, the on-going second edition of which was extended in duration to close to two weeks due to the strong participations from Qatar and overseas.

Very high standards have been adopted at KIAHF making it one of the international events par excellence, as the KIAHF Title Show Championship is considered the first in the world given the size of its global participation and the value of prizes and awards.

He added that the WAHC receives high-quality Qatari participation annually through the best horse-owners and breeders which confirms the ability to compete globally. It also witnessed the coronation of Qatari horses more than once.

Moreover, he stressed that Katara is constantly working to achieve leadership in line with the wise vision of the Qatari leadership to make the nation at the highest ranks in all fields.
