At the event, the Minister presented a special memento to Shanavas Padiyath in recognition of Lulu Hypermarket’s invaluable contribution to the Qatar Cancer Society’s initiatives.
“We are honored to be part of this noble cause and to support the Qatar Cancer Society in its mission to raise awareness about cancer prevention, early detection, and provide critical support to patients and their families. At Lulu Hypermarket, we believe in building a cancer-aware community, and we remain committed to doing our part in combating cancer,” said Shanvas Padiyath.
In addition to ongoing advocacy and fundraising efforts, Lulu Hypermarket Qatar played a significant role in the QCS’s efforts last year, with the Shop and Donate campaign raising an impressive QR125,000 for the society. The event also marked the launch of the Qatar Cancer Society’s strategic plan for 2025-2028, aimed at aligning with Qatar’s National Vision 2030. The society’s mission is to raise awareness of cancer prevention, early detection, and to provide financial and psychosocial support to those affected. The plan also emphasises the importance of building strong partnerships across sectors, including the government, media, and private organisations like Lulu Hypermarket, to ensure meaningful progress in the fight against cancer.
Chairman of QCS Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Jaber Al Thani, shared his vision for the future, stating, “The QCS is proud to launch its new 2025-2028 strategy, which truly reflects our ambitious vision of providing a better life for cancer patients and offering the necessary support to combat the disease by building strong partnerships with relevant sectors to ensure the achievement of desired outcomes.”
