The weekend is here, the weather is good and don’t know what to do. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. From live shows and musicals to fashion and beauty, these are a few of the many things to do this weekend in Qatar.

Flower Festival 2018

The Ministry of Municipality and Environment is organising the Flower Festival-2018 at three winter vegetable markets starting from Thursday to promote locally produced flowers.

The annual winter markets run by the ministry are located at Al Mazrouah (near Umm Salal), Al Khor and Al Dhakhira and Al Wakrah. First flower festival will be held from January 11 to 13 at winter market of Al

Mazrouah. The winter market of Al Khor-Al Dhakhira will have the festival from January 18 to 20 while the visitors can benefit from flower festival at Al Wakrah winter market from January 25 to 27.

Free Entry.

Music and pictures from a galaxy far, far away

Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra is going to perform music from some of the greatest motion pictures ever. They have not mentioned the name of the movies due to copy right issues.

At the QNCC, they will showcase clips and stills and guided narration to meet “Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader, the crew of the USS Enterprise with Dr. Spock and Captain Kirk, and Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley in terror from alien creatures,” QPO said in a cryptic message.

It sounds like a very interesting evening for film and music enthusiasts.

Baía dos piratas

Mall of Qatar is hosting an adventurous live show by The Pirates Bay crew that promises to keep the audience of all ages enthralled. The crew has escaped from the prison but they find a new place, a pirate paradise, where everything is perfect, including lots of sun, treasures and a place to relax. However, there is someone searching for them, an old pirate named Captain Smith, who works for the Queen. He is out to capture the

Pirates Bay crew. Take the little ones along for a great evening out.

Art in War

“Art in War” is part of the Al Jazeera documentary art film series that will be shown at the Fire Station cinema.

This documentary tells the story of Palestinian artists who witnessed the Israeli aggression on Gaza in 2014 and decided to turn the bombing wreckage and smoke scenes to artworks that advocate the land owner in the face of the occupier.

Fashion and Beauty Park

Doha Festival City has launched a ‘Fashion and Beauty Park’ event as part of the Shop Qatar 2018 celebrations this month. They will be transforming shipping containers into venues that will host a month of workshops and activities aimed to guide you through your fashion and beauty challenges.

An interactive area where visitors can enjoy workshops bringing beauty and fashion together within three different themes.

January 10 – 13: Casual Chic

January 17 – 20: Work Closet

January 24 – 27: Bridal/Evening Wear/Cocktail

Image consultant, Elisabete Reis, and fashion and style columnist, Elmira Kahrobaie, will be available to show visitors how to enhance their best attributes with the right clothes, accessories, hair-cut and make-up.
