Qatar Airways flights QR 777 from Doha to Miami and QR 778 from Miami to Doha are cancelled for 11 September, due to adverse weather conditions.

This was announced by the airline on their website and social media platforms.

“Passengers holding tickets to or from Miami are advised to contact their local booking agent and to check the Flight Status tab on the Qatar Airways website for the latest updates,” said the airline statement.
Due to adverse weather conditions, Qatar Airways had earlier cancelled the Miami flights on September 9 and 10.

Announcing itself with roaring 130 mph winds, Hurricane Irma plowed into the mostly emptied-out Florida Keys early Sunday for the start of what could be a slow, ruinous march up the state's west coast toward the heavily populated Tampa-St. Petersburg area.

While the projected track showed Irma raking the state's Gulf Coast, forecasters warned that the entire Florida peninsula — including the Miami metropolitan area of 6 million people — was in extreme peril from the monstrous storm, almost 400 miles wide.

Qatar Airways operates an Airbus 350-900 daily to Miami.

In an earlier report Associated Press said that airlines are preparing to cancel Florida flights that are in the path of Hurricane Irma.

More than 1,600 flights to or from Florida have been canceled because of Irma, according to flight-tracking service FlightAware. When counting cancellations in the Caribbean since September 1, the number of Irma-related cancellations jumps to 4,000.
