Old Doha Port's Ekbes Volleyball Tournament Reaches Full Swing

Doha, Qatar: The 3rd Ekbes Beach Volleyball Tournament 2025 continued Sunday at the Old Doha Port and reached full swing.

Dedicated to the holy month of Ramadan, the event will run until March 14, 2025.

The tournament featured many triumphs by the participating teams, with the Police College team triumphing over Mareikh with a 2-1 victory, registering scores of (21-15, 15-21, 15-21), while Marqab defeated Al Wakrah in straight sets, with scores of (21-14, 21-15).

The teams will have a rest on Monday, with the competitions resuming on Tuesday in preparation for the second phase of the tournament. They will engage in decisive confrontations in the lead-up to the semifinal slated for Wednesday, after which they will have a rest on Thursday to prepare for the final game on Friday, March 14.

Chairman of the Championship Organizing Committee, Faisal Khalid Al Otaibi, lauded the role the Old Doha Port plays in organizing this tournament, along with its significant support for the organizing committee and all participating teams.

He affirmed that removing all hiccups and challenges by the Old Doha Port made the tournament a superb landmark in the tournament's history, including all Ramadan championships.

Al Otaibi urged all Qatari community members to attend this event and enjoy the spellbinding Ramadan atmosphere and the accompanying events.

Interestingly, the organizing committee has allocated financial rewards valued at QR100,000 for the winners of the first three places as part of encouraging the teams to participate, with the champion receiving QR50,000 in cash, QR30,000 going to the runner-up, and QR20,000 for the third-place finisher.
