Six food outlets closed in Doha during inspection drive ahead of Ramadan

Doha: Doha Municipality has started implementing its action plan to enhance inspection drive on food outlets ahead of holy month of Ramadan until end of Eid Al Fitr.

The drive which began from middle of February witnessed 2,519 inspection visits to different food outlets, said the Ministry of Municipality.

The inspection drive resulted in recording 55 violations of some provisions of the Law No. 8 of 1990 for regulating foods. 

The Municipality issued decisions to close six food outlets for period ranging from 5 to 15 days as per the violations. A total of 56 complaints were received by the team concerned which responded to all within 24 hours from the date of complaints.
