Doha: The North Security Department arrested 15 people from one Asian country after they attempted to smuggle gold out of the country illegally by converting it into powder.
After completing the necessary procedures, the premises of the defendants in different regions were raided. Tools they used to convert gold into powder were seized along with cash and gold coins.
The accused and the seized goods were referred to the competent authorities to start their procedures in this regard.
Ministry of Interior urged public to cooperate with security agencies to reduce crimes by reporting them immediately.
