Doha: Al Rayan Municipality has announced its action plan to enhance inspection campaign on food outlets during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.
The inspectors from health monitoring unites of the Municipality will conduct inspection on commercial outlets and Al Sailiya Central Market in two shifts – morning and evening, said the Ministry of Municipality in a statement.
The food outlets have been classified according to their activities to conduct the inspection and take at random samples of food items for testing in laboratory.
To keep an eye on the yards for selling imported and local produce, municipal inspectors will be dispatched to monitor the activities of auction and catch illegal vendors.
The work plan during the holy month of Ramadan will be divided into two shifts from 10am until pm, and from 8pm until 1am.
As for Al Sailiya Central Market, work will be divided into two shifts from 9am until 2pm, and the second period from 8pm until 1am.
The slaughterhouses (Al Rayyan and Muaither) will be working from Saturday to Thursday from 9 am to 4 pm and on Friday, from 7 am to 10 am, and from 1 pm to 4 pm.
The Ministry asked the outlets to comply the rules.
