Doha: A small fire was reported at the Al Sailiya secondary school for girls and it was contained quickly by the civil defence without any injuries. 

Ministry of Education and Higher Education said that fire on the roof of the school was very limited and did not result in any injuries.

According to the ministry, the fire occurred while a company was replacing the waterproofing layers on the roof of the school building.

“The final technical evaluation of the situation is carried out in coordination with the competent authorities,” the ministry tweeted.

“I visited the site of the fire at Al-Sailiya secondary school for girls, where the fire occurred on the roof of the school. We assure you that the fire was very small and did not result in any injuries. We thank all competent authorities for their efforts to control the fire very quickly,” Dr Ibrahim Al Naimi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, said in a tweet.

Ministry of Interior also tweeted that the “Civil Defense extinguished a small fire on the roof of Al-Sailiya secondary school for girls without any injuries.”

The Ministry of Education published a video taken from the inside of the building to reassure everyone that no damage was done inside the building.
