Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) held the second periodic meeting for the male and female managers of public schools (boys and girls) for the academic year 2022-2023.

Organised by the educational affairs sector in cooperation with Training and Development Center and Schools Evaluation Department, the meeting was attended by 230 male and female managers of schools, along with academic representatives.

In her remark on this occasion, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs at MoEHE, Maha Zayed Al Ruwaili, lauded the resounding success made by the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and considered it a model in terms of its applicability as a model that is suitable for school field. 

She called on all staffers in the school sector to cooperate for the sake of standardising their plans and concerting their efforts towards the promised educational objectives to achieve the educational plans and programmes, along with the education quality at all levels, whether evaluation and tests levels, academic achievement for students or development of the student character in the academic guidance, as well as safeguarding the national and Islamic identity.

The educational affairs sector is ready with all its departments to support male and female managers of schools to operate, she said, including the importance of guiding the students towards choosing the academic tracks that are appropriate and relevant with the labour market.

In addition, Al Ruwaili talked about the importance of providing the constant vocational development for the teachers through the individual efforts offered by the school internally, or through sharing the expertise with other schools. 

She pointed to the ensuing positive impact when the required support is provided to the teachers and school staff, underscoring the importance fostering the informed partnership with the students’ guardians to be effective partners in upgrading their sons’ learning, as well as promoting the role of the school counsellors as a focal point between schools and MoEHE’s departments to facilitate such a work.

She announced that MoEHE will soon issue the circulars pertaining to the timeline and details of registering the students in the public schools for the upcoming academic year 2023-2024, in addition to a series of beneficial educational programmes laid out by MoEHE, and called for the importance of schools’ support to the MoEHEin order to implement these programmes.

Director of Early Years Education at MoEHE, Maryam Ali Al Nesef Al Boainain, said that the strategic objectives of a programme to be launched are to convert the schools into beacons of knowledge, provision of high quality and safe academic experiences for all students and empower the persons with special needs in pursuit of instilling the feeling of an active, self-educated, self-confident, citizen who is aware of his abilities. She added that such objectives will help students contribute to their community.

For her part, Director of the Educational Guidance Department, Maryam Noman Al Emadi, spoke of a programme to be launched and said that the programme intends to develop and promote education to high levels and standards to achieve Qatar National Vision 2030, along with MoEHE’s vision that aims to provide permanent and innovative learning opportunity to the Qatari community, pointing out that the programme seeks to refine the students' skills to be an actor in serving his country.

Director of Educational Training and Development Center, Eman Al Mohannadi, reviewed the fields that should be developed to have a successful educational programme, the important of which is the role undertaken by the teachers in students’ learning process and skills of teachers. 

This is in addition to achieving the training system, design and implementation, stressing on the importance of establishing communities for vocational learning in order to empower the teachers and school leaders in Qatar to proceed with the innovation and apply the new techniques and initiatives through organising periodic forums between teachers and school leaders.
