Doha: The World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE 2023 Summit) is set to take place in November and will spark debate around education challenges and solutions over two days.
The 11th edition of the WISE biennial Summit will be held in Doha from November 28 to 29, said CEO of WISE Stavros N Yiannouka.
“In the lead-up to the WISE 2023, we want to continue working with partners across Qatar and the world. We want to continually engage with the youth in helping amplify their voice,” said Yiannouka speaking to the media recently on the sidelines of the Doha Learning Days Festival.
He also said that the theme for WISE 2023 and the new features of the Summit will be announced later.
WISE, the global education initiative of Qatar Foundation, has established itself as a global reference in new approaches to education. Through both the biennial Summit and a range of ongoing programmes WISE is promoting innovation and building the future of education through collaboration.
The WISE Doha Learning Days Festival wrapped up its successful fourth edition this week.
Hosted by WISE, the festival curated a wealth of meaningful informal learning opportunities, welcoming thousands of school students, youth, and families at Msheireb Museums. A rich programme focused on youth empowerment through activities such as entrepreneurship and financial literacy masterclasses, interactions with emerging technologies such as robotics, and sessions to enrich personal growth.
The six 2022 WISE Awards winners selected from among projects worldwide for their innovative approaches to pressing education issues and positive impact on their communities were honoured during the opening of the Doha Learning Days Festival.
“We have our ongoing programmes ... we celebrated the WISE 2022 Award winners, we are finalising the 2023 WISE Awards finalists and will announce soon; nominations for the WISE Prize are open, also there are activities of WISE Edtech Accelerator, WISE Emerging Leaders, and Learner’s Voice,” Yiannouka said.
WISE is a response to the necessity of revitalising education and providing a global platform for the development of new ideas and solutions.
Since 2009, WISE has evolved into a thriving global, multi-sectoral community, which continues to generate fruitful dialogue and productive partnerships.
The WISE community is a network of education stakeholders - from students to decision-makers - from about 200 countries who share ideas and collaborate to seek creative solutions to solve challenges facing education.
