Doha Festival City (DFC) unveiled on Friday its 'Fashion Festival', featuring 23 brands.

Talking to The Peninsula, DFC Marketing Manager Hisham Elzubeir said the festival highlights the amazing choice DFC has to offer.

“DFC has 435 retailers, which is the largest collection in Qatar, and so to highlight that choice by having different kinds of brands and bringing them all together — whether it’s make-up, hair, fashion, catering — to come together in unison in such an amazing event is a great opportunity and a great thing to have,” he said.

As the government relaxes domestic COVID-19 restrictions, holding such an event is “exciting”, as Elzubeir narrated.

He added that conducting the festival compared to the previous years is different. There are only 40 VIP seats and the extra seats are on first come, first served basis.

The Fashion Festival will be broadcast via YouTube and a recap video will likewise be posted on Facebook and Instagram.

Moreover, compared to the previous year, the conduct of the festival showed a boost on the sales performance among its retailers. Elzubeir said, “Some brand items were sold out on the same day the fashion show was conducted. This kind of show has a very positive impact to our business retailers.” The festival will run on weekends for the whole month of November and will feature a broad selection of bridal wear, evening wear, sports wear and casual wear.
The Friday show highlighted the collection from Monsoon Apparel; Salam Kido, a kids premium fashion brands; and Mothercare, the premier global retailer in the mother, baby and children’s market.

On Saturday, it featured United Kingdom brands such as the online fashion retailer Boohoo, Debenhams, and George W Davis.

On November 11, it will showcase sports brands including NBA, Go Sport, and Fila. On November 12, it will present fast fashion brands including LC Waikiki, MAX, and Napapijri; and on November 13, it will show American Eagle, Armani Exchange, and Scotch & Soda. Meanwhile, on the third week, it will highlight brands from By Nour Couture, Verona, and Fouad Sarkis.

On November 19, it will present Hera, List Roma, and Ciragan Dantel.  The show will conclude on November 20 with the latest collections of high-end fashion retailer Harvey Nichols, shedding light on its exclusive women's and men's collections through three dedicated fashion shows.
