Coach Koussay Hatem’s wards were relentless on both ends and shot better from the field to stay in command, leading 48-42 at half-time.

William Byrd went to work early in the third period to push his team to 54- 50.

Omar Salem and Wright led an 8-2 assault to give Al Gharafa a double digit advantage at 62-52, and then took control to post a 73-57 lead before the start of the final quarter.
