Beirut: Lebanese army intelligence patrol in Arsal arrested the so-called Youssef Abdullah Awdeh in his "pickup" coming from Arsal terrain, on suspicion of his relation with armed groups, army command said in a communique on Monday.
After interrogation with him, Awdeh admitted that he has in coordination with others equipped the pickup with a "secret hideout" in the aim of smuggling arms to the benefit of one of the terrorist organizations.
The army intelligence found inside the vehicle's secret hideout anti-tank system with two missiles, 84 hand grenades, three explosive devices (each one weighing about 3 kg), detonators and assorted ammunition, according to the National News Agency (NNA).
The arrested person also acknowledged that he was paid an amount of USD 4,100 in exchange for carrying out this process.
The Intelligence Directorate continues the necessary investigations to detect and arrest those involved in the process.
