Doha: Gary Andrew’s Team Rest of the World (ROW) Blues beat Aaron King’s Team England to retain their dominance since 2020 by winning the annual (Laffan Industries Golf Society (LIGS) Ryder Cup title at Doha Golf Club.

The LIGS Golf Society offers golfers the opportunity to compete against fellow golf enthusiasts and to enjoy the social integration and expansion of the sport within Qatar.

Following the Ministry’s safety guidelines and vaccinations against COVID-19, the season culminated with the ever popular Ryder Cup fixture between the Rest of the World blues and the England reds.

This year’s tournament is supported by Jensen Hughes with sponsorships to include coordinated team apparel and gear for players, our events photographer, Adnan Qureshi and our master of ceremonies, Dean Mann. The signature gala prize-giving dinner event was hosted this year at the Doha Golf Club open terrace. LIGS is a friendly and welcoming golf society formed in 2005 by a group of golf enthusiasts, most of whom lived and worked in Ras Laffan. City at the time. LIGS has since, grown over the years and sustains around 80 members from the region and all corners of the world, with their seasonal sponsorship for 2021 being from Rider Levett Bucknall and Q-Fasteners. Interest is encouraged, with pre-arranged scheduling secured by the society for the weekly Friday morning tee-off at Doha Golf Club.
