Following an inspection campaign and on the basis of laboratory results, the Ministry of Public Health has issued closure notice to a shop selling honey with harmful chemicals.

During an inspection campaign, it found a shop selling a type of honey that was unheard of, which contained some substances harmful to health and was advertised as "gives energy when consumed".

The results of laboratory analysis in the central food laboratories in the ministry showed that a number of chemicals and medicines for various diseases was added to the honey, including drugs that are not authorized to be used internationally for health damage.

A decision was issued to close the shop as a result of violating the provisions of Law No. 8 of 1990 on the regulation of human food control. All the quantities seized in the shop were destroyed.

The inspection campaigns carried out by the Ministry are part of the keenness to ensure the application of food safety standards and requirements and to detect any violations against them in order to preserve the health of the consumer.
