Doha, Qatar: Education Above All (EAA) Foundation, a global development and education foundation, in collaboration with Mentor Arabia Foundation will host a Gala Dinner on February 18 in Doha, highlighting the critical role of youth in building sustainable and healthy communities while raising funds for impactful projects.
The Mentor Arabia Gala Dinner 2025 will be held under the patronage of H H Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Education Above All Foundation and the event will also be graced by the presence of H M Queen Silvia of Sweden, President of Mentor International; HRH Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Chairman of Mentor Arabia; and several other global leaders, sponsors, and change makers to support youth empowerment and sustainable development.
Proceeds from the Mentor Arabia Gala Dinner 2025 will benefit thousands of youths in Qatar and Lebanon through the Youth Empowerment and Employment for Development (YEED) project, a new joint initiative between EAA and Mentor Arabia, said officials addressing a press conference at Fairmont Doha, yesterday.
Abdulla Al Abdulla, Executive Director of EAA’s Reach Out to All Programme, said, “This initiative aims to support thousands of young people in Qatar and Lebanon by equipping them with green skills, vocational training, and employment pathways in emerging sectors, enabling them to achieve economic independence and actively contribute to building thriving sustainable communities.”
In Qatar, YEED project will focus on supporting students in Assalam Schools, providing scholarships and training to ensure a smooth transition from education to employment. In Lebanon, the initiative will work towards developing young people’s skills and linking them to job opportunities.
Thuraya Ismail, CEO of Mentor Arabia, said, “The essence of everything we do is to make a positive impact on the lives of children and youth through our targeted awareness programmes and our strategic partnerships with the governments, private sector, international organisations, media and academic institutions and others. Contributing to sustainable communities and empowering youth is what we aim to achieve throughout our joint venture with Education Above All in Qatar, Lebanon, and the region.”
She said that YEED project aims to reach around 9,000 young people through 300 youth-led green initiatives. It targets creating 600 jobs and 25% of which will be in green sectors.
The Mentor Arabia Gala Dinner 2025 is expected to feature thought-provoking keynote speeches, captivating cultural performances including by renowned pianist and composer Michel Fidel, singer Nassif Zeyton, and Qatari artist Nasser Al Kubaisi.
In addition, an exclusive live auction of rare artworks and valuable experiences will be conducted by world-renowned auctioneer Simon de Pury.
Also eight outstanding young winners of the fourth edition of the “Mentor Arabia Youth Social Entrepreneurs Award,” will be honoured during Mentor Arabia Gala Dinner 2025.
It will celebrate the achievements of Arab youth in social entrepreneurship across various fields, including health, education, media, environment, energy, arts, culture, fintech, and technology.
