Senorita delights fans with super win

DOHA: Saudi rider Khaled Al Eid yesterday found a perfect ally in Senorita to win the feature event after an intense battle with Qatar’s Bassem Hassan Mohammed on the final day of the 2016 Al Rayyan International Show Jumping Championship.
Al Eid, who won the top event on Saturday, yesterday produced a well-timed routine with Senorita to bag the top prize of QR 186,000. Senorita clocked a time of 43.45 seconds in the 160cm class.
Qatar’s Bassem battled until the end with The Toymaker to finish in second spot. The Toymaker clocked a time of 44.37 seconds. Bassem won QR 148,800 for his efforts.
Australia’s Edwina Tops-Alexander finished her Doha trip with a third-place trophy with Lintea Tequila who clocked a time of 44.99 seconds. Edwina won QR 111,600.
Saudi rider Ramzy Al Duhami (4th, Al Capone) and Czech rider Ales Optarny (5th, Acovaro) completed the top five. 
Al Duhami won QR 74,400 while Optarny picked up QR 52,080.
In competition 10, Jordanian rider Ibrahim Hani Bisharat tasted victory with Brown Sugar to bag the honours in the 145cm class.
Brown Sugar clocked a time of 40.09 seconds as Bisharat picked up the top prize of QR 30,525.
Czech rider Opatrny enjoyed another sound outing to finish in second spot with VDL Fakir who clocked a time of 42.63 seconds.
Qatar’s popular rider Bassem astride Paddy’s Darco finished in third spot in a time of 42.66 seconds.
Saudi rider Nasser Albagami (4th, WKD Lexington) and Qatar’s Rashid Al Towaim Al Marri (5th, Kannada) completed the top five.
In competition 9, Ali Al Khorafi continued with his good form yesterday when he produced a neat routine with Cheril to grab the honours in the 130/135cm class.
Saudi rider Khaled Almobty, astride Aloha, finished in second spot in a time of 56.36 seconds. Naser Al Shawwaf, who was riding his popular entry Fulla, finished in third sport in a time of 61.40 seconds.
Salman Almaqadi (4th, Seoul) and Meshary Alharbi (5th, Zidane) completed the top five riders in round against the clock.
In competition 8, Qatari riders smoked the competition, bagging the top spots in the 120cm class.
Saeed Nasser Al Qadi guided Jessico 4 to the top position in a time of 49.09 seconds. Caresse M G, ridden by Mohammad Al Ghazali, finished in second place in a time of 50.43 seconds.
What A Lady Van De Smis, who had Jaber Rashid Al Amri in the saddle, secured the third spot in a time of 51.13 seconds. Mohammed Said Haidan, astride Corrado’s Coriana, grabbed the fourth spot while Salem Rashid Al Marri (Marfurlong Magic) finished in fifth spot.
A total of 89 riders and 164 horses featured in this 4-star event, the second of its kind organised by QEF in a week. There were  11 classes in total of which 3 were contested on the first day on Friday while 4 each are lined up on Saturday and yesterday respectively.The Peninsula
