DOHA: The Community Police Department, in collaboration with the Civil Defence Directorate, the Traffic Department, the Qatar Red Crescent Society and the Environmental Protection Department at the Ministry of Environment, organised a two-day campaign titled ‘Safe camp’ in Al Ghaariya.
The campaign aimed to make camp-goers aware of safety procedures during camping, the importance of keeping the environment clean and the need to take care of children when they are taking them on a ride on dune buggies. The campaign also focused on making camp-goers aware of first aid and how to use it in emergencies.
Lieutenant Jamal Hamad Al Nuaimi, Community Police Officer at Al Shamal Public Security Department, said the campaign was part of his department’s programmes to help prevent accidents and curb crimes.
The camping season is an opportunity for raising awareness due to the presence of a large numbers of people in the area. The camp-goers were happy about the campaign which they said helped them avoid risks that some of them may get exposed to. The Peninsula
