Doha: The Embassy of Qatar in Ethiopia urged Qatari citizens in Ethiopia to leave the country as soon as possible due the recent security situation.
“In view of the recent security events, a state of emergency has been declared throughout the Republic of Ethiopia, starting on November 2, 2021. The Embassy of Qatar in Ethiopia calls upon all Qatari citizens in Ethiopian territory to take the utmost care and caution, and to leave the Republic of Ethiopia as soon as possible,” they tweeted.
Ethiopia declared a state of emergency on Tuesday after forces from the northern region of Tigray said they were gaining territory and considering marching on the capital Addis Ababa.
