Doha: Students of the seventh cohort from the School of Social Sciences and Humanities at Doha Institute for Graduate Studies (DI) have started discussing their master theses and capstones, a requirement for graduation.

The students addressed vital research topics related to the region where they engaged with social and cultural issues. The topics covered comparative literature, philosophy, history, critical studies, linguistics, social work, political sciences and others. Dr. Amal Ghazal, Dean of the School of Social Sciences and Humanities, said that 108 master’s theses and graduate research papers would be discussed this year, including vital topics on local and other affairs covering the Arab region and intertwined with current issues and topics in the social and human sciences.

Dr. Amal emphasised that many of the projects have been original with high quality demonstrating the ability of DI students to explore the depths of various research topics creatively as the school aims to graduate students who can keep up with the constant changes locally and globally.

The projects’ topics reflect the diversity and distinction of issues that interest the Arab world, which is the school’s mission in all its offered programmes.
