Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani during the graduation ceremony of 10th batch of associate’s and bachelor’s degree holders at the Community College of Qatar, yesterday.
Doha: The Community College of Qatar (CCQ) celebrated yesterday the graduation of its 10th batch of associate’s and bachelor’s degree holders.
The ceremony witnessed the graduation of 865 promising national professionals in multiple fields, marking CCQ’s 10-year anniversary contributing to the career development of thousands of specialised cadres and supporting national priorities.
The event was held at the Qatar National Convention Centre. Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani attended the graduation ceremony.
The Prime Minister honoured the outstanding graduates, namely: Fatima Mahdi Al Khalaf, Ahmad Yusef Afsari, Abdulla Hassan Alsaegh and Amna Mahmoud Al Ali.
During the ceremony, a documentary film was shown about the importance of education and its role in the development of societies, in addition to the aspirations of the graduates in building their future and serving the society and the state.
The ceremony was attended by a number of Their Excellencies Sheikhs, ministers, academics and faculty members.
The ceremony also witnessed the graduation of CCQ’s first batch of students of the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology programme, who are set to join the labour force and play an effective role in serving the community and the nation as part of Qatar National Vision 2030, which identifies education as one of the basic pillars of social progress and the key to development and excellence.
In his speech to the Class of 2021, Dr. Mohamed Al Naemi, CCQ President, extended his congratulations to the graduating class and expressed his pride in graduating a new batch of ambitious national cadres, who successfully completed an important chapter of their academic journey at CCQ and are fully equipped to set out on the next chapter to explore more opportunities that will enable them to be leaders of the future.
He also stressed the important role CCQ plays in providing quality education for all community members, living up to its slogan “We Teach Generations for a Better Future”.
Dr. Al Naemi took the opportunity to shed light on the strategic and academic partnerships that CCQ concluded this year as part of its continuous cooperation with the different institutions across Qatar to provide its students with more academic, research and training opportunities. This comes as a demonstration of CCQ’s strong belief in the importance of exchanging experiences between higher education institutions and its role in serving the community and the country.
Elaborating on this point, Dr. Al Naemi spoke highly of CCQ’s fruitful cooperation with Qatar University, Doha Institute for Graduate Studies and Yarmouk University in Jordan in the fields of scientific and knowledge exchange, including the exchange of academic and research experiences, as well as students’ exchange. He also referred to CCQ’s strategic partnerships with the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, the General Authority of Customs, Qatar National Library, the leading global ICT solutions provider “Huawei Technologies”, and Qatar Assistive Technology Centre (Mada), which aim at offering more opportunities for students to develop the skills needed in the labour market.
Reflecting on the challenges of the past year, Dr. Al Naemi emphasised how the proactive and reactive approach adopted by CCQ contributed to overcoming such challenges and maintaining an uninterrupted flow of the educational process, along with the College’s advanced ICT infrastructure and its adherence to the international standards of information security and information security risk management, which was recognized with ISO 27001 certification.
Speaking on behalf of his fellow graduates, Hassan Al Shahrani, Presenter at Qatar TV, expressed his pride and joy to graduate from the Associate of Arts in Public Administration programme and to be a member of the tenth batch of CCQ graduates.
Graduates of the Class of 2021 expressed their excitement after a journey of persistence, and their eagerness to embark on a new journey towards achieving more academic and professional accomplishments.
