Rain observed across Qatar as strong wind, high seas forecasted for weekend

Doha: A warning on strong wind and high sea offshore has been issued  for the weekend as light rain continues to be observed across the country on Thursday, February 27. 

During this period, the Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) encourages citizens and residents to avoid all marine activities including free swimming, boat trips, scuba diving, free diving, surfing, fishing tours, and windsurfing. 

QMD also stated that Abu Samra recorded the lowest temperature this morning at 12°C, while Doha recorded a temperature of 15°C. 

This weather condition will continue during this weekend as QMD forecasts relatively cold to moderate temperatures during day time with scattered clouds. Temperatures from Friday to Saturday will range between 14°C and 24°C. 

The wind is also set to blow in the northwesterly direction at 8-18KT gusting to 26KT while sea heights will range from 4-8ft reaching 10ft offshore on Friday, and 3-5ft reaching 8ft offshore on Saturday.
