Doha: The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) has announced the launch of the first edition of the Katara Festival for Artistic Talents, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
The festival aims to attract talented school students in the art of painting at all levels (primary, preparatory, and secondary) and to discover, develop, encourage, and motivate new and distinguished artistic talents for creativity and innovation.
General Manager of Cultural Village Foundation (Katara), Professor Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, explained: “This new Festival, comes to search for, attract and sponsor artistic talent.”
He stressed Katara’s constant enthusiasm and relentless pursuit to embrace talented students and work to develop and refine their capacities.
On the other hand, the festival’s organising committee announced that participation in the festival’s competitions will be open to all students at Qatar schools (primary, preparatory, and secondary), adding that each school is allowed to submit five artworks.
The organising committee indicated that the Katara waterfront will host an art exhibition that includes the best artworks presented by schools and will held from November 30 to December 18.
The organising committee clarified the specifications of the submitted artwork, including that it should be on a Canson type paper (A3 size), and colors (flowmaster, wood, water, wax, charcoal) are used, noting that the subject of the artwork is focused on sports. Participants must provide the name of the school, name of the student, title of the submitted artwork, type of colors, contact number, and the deadline for submitting the works is November 15 in building No. 22 between 9am and 2pm.
