Doha: The iconic Sofra Restaurant at Alwadi Hotel MGallery has launched a new menu, as well as business lunch, and a Friday brunch this September, giving foodies the opportunity to sample the culinary team’s expertise.

Take your palate on a journey of the senses and explore the complex flavours of Levantine and Arabic cuisine at Sofra restaurant at Alwadi Hotel MGallery.

Drawing on the flavours of Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Jordan, the new menu encompasses old favourites and gives modern twists, and creates new classics. This includes the chef’s innovative houmous selection – which uses unique flavours like avocado to reinvent the dish. The hot and cold mezze selection include vibrant flavours such as pomegranate and lemon, and the succulent grills will not disappoint. There is also a section of family-style dishes to encourage sharing.

The new Sofra business lunch is three courses with a selection of local and international flavours. It is available Sunday to Thursday, from 12:00 noon to 3:00pm for QR120 per person (including one soft beverage). Main course options include Freekeh with slow cooked lamb, grilled hammour with Harrah sauce, and beef sharhat mtafya.

The new Levantine Brunch will be hosted every Friday, from 12.00 noon to 4.00pm, and is QR275 per person (inclusive of soft beverages) and QR350 per person. The menu kicks off with a lavish selection of seafood served on ice and includes live cooking stations, hot and cold mezze, grills, and a dessert shop featuring the hotel’s popular cakes and sweet treats.

The much-loved Arabesque night continues to offer cold and hot mezze and enhanced beverages every Thursday, from 7:00pm to 11:00pm for QR200 per person.

Alwadi Hotel MGallery General Manager Hani Akkari said that Sofra was a unique restaurant offering authentic, beautifully presented food meant for sharing and enjoyment amongst friends and family.

“So far, with its interiors designed to look like a dhow boat and stunning views of Souq Waqif, it is truly an experience and one that is meant to be shared,” Akkari said. “The new menu is an opportunity for our talented culinary team to cook the food they love. Launching a business lunch and a brunch alongside the new menu means we will be able to surprise and delight our loyal guests as well as garner new fans thanks to the distinct flavours of the food and the world-class service we offer,” he added.
