Doha: A change to the fee charged for medicine home delivery and other medical items has been announced.  It will be implemented from tomorrow, January 1.  The home delivery service by Qatar Post, in partnership with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) and Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) will charge QR30 from January 1.

The home delivery service delivers medications, medical reports, medical consumables and dietary products.

“The fee for home delivery by Qatar Post of HMC and  PHCC medications, medical reports, medical consumables and dietary products will revert to QR30 from 1 January, 2023,” Qatar Post and HMC have announced on their official twitter page.

To access the HMC medication home delivery service, patients should call 16000 between 8am to 2pm daily from Sunday to Thursday.

To access the PHCC medication home delivery service patients can call the assigned medication home delivery service number for their health center or 16000 for more information.

To access PHCC medication home delivery service, patients can also send a message to the WhatsApp number assigned to their health center. They can find the WhatsApp number on PHCC website.

HMC and PHCC patients must have a valid health card, a card to pay for the medications/items and delivery fee as well as know their house and street address. The service is   available nationwide to all patients. All Qatar Post drivers are adhering to the highest standards of hygiene and have been specially trained to handle medications, including those that require refrigeration and special handling,  HMC officials had said earlier.

The service was launched in April 2020 as a response to the pandemic but continued thanks to positive feedback from patients.

Until September 2022, more than 400,000 medication deliveries have been made to HMC patients and almost 200,000 medication deliveries to PHCC patients using the service. The reduced fee will be in place until the end of the year.
