Qatar’s Awad Al Qahtani astride Gerence Of Colors put up a splendid show to clinch victory in the feature event of the day as the fifth round of the Hathab Equestrian Tour concluded at Al Shaqab Arena yesterday.
Al Qahtani who guided his 11-year-old mare clocked 59.03 seconds in the Big Class - One round against the clock, 130/140cm event to bag the top prize of the day, QR7,500.
SEC Cosmos Wijngaardhoevez, with Mubarak Yousuf Al Rumaihi in the saddle, spent a time of 59.41 seconds to complete the same task and was placed second ahead of Rashid Towaim Al Marri who guided Chupa Chups 12 to secure the third place.
Al Rumaihi won QR6,000 in prize money while Al Marri walked away with a prize cheque worth QR4,500.
Cassander Van Het Bremhof, with Awad Al Qahtani in the saddle, finished fourth while Quel Homme, ridden by Nasser Al Ghazali rounded up the top five in the event which offered a total of QR30,000 in prize money.
Earlier, in the Medium Tour, Mohammed Taleb Al Saaq guided Diamond Delemma to complete a flawless routine in 51.60 seconds and win the top prize of QR5,000.
Numero Uno - T, with Mohammed Sultan Al Suwaidi in the saddle, clocked a time of 52.66 seconds to win the second place which came along with a prize cheque of QR4,000.
Daydreamer EC, ridden by - Saeed Nasser Al Qadi, completed the podium after the 14-year-old gelding finished the routine in 53.78 seconds.
