Qatar's population up 7.7% in September

Doha: Monthly statistics published Saturday by Qatar's Ministry of Development Planning said that the population in the State of Qatar during September was 2.347 million people. 
The figure is a 7.3% increase compared to the same period of last year, which was 2.187 million people. There were 2828 marriages registered in September 2015, up 12.3% month-on-month. Divorces were down 43.3% compared to august to 1117 registered cases. The number of Qatari citizens benefiting from social security was up 2.2% to 12382. 
Visitors from outside the GCC were up 7.7% in the first nine months of 2015. Visitors from the GCC were up 45.2% meanwhile. 
As for traffic related statistics, The number of traffic violations were up 3.2% to 163207 traffic violations registered in September. The number of newly registered cars declined 2.6% month-on-month to 8090 new cars.
