Kerala MP E. Ahamed passed away.

The death of former Indian minister of states for external affairs has officialy been confirmed by hosptal authorities late night after a prolonged suspense they kept about his health, reports local visual media.

A twitter handle @unnis_m, whose profile says he’s an Assistant News Coordinator @News18Kerala, tweets: “Official death time at 2.15 Am says Delhi Police official #RIP #EAhamed”

His earlier tweets hinted at an attempt purportedly made by the government to withheld the news on account of India’s general budget presentation.

“In our republic , government will decide the date and time of ur death according to their convenience. So strange and sad #RIP #EAhamed.”

“There is any conspiracy? Or what. #EAhamed”   tweets another handle @alamgirizvi

“Why not even #EAhamed's son &daughter are allowed to see him. Pressure mounts. Rahul and sonia at RML,” tweets @DilSeyDesi

On Tuesday he suffered a heart attack and collapsed in Parliament's Central Hall. His condition was extremely critical and he had been put on life support system, doctors at RML hospital said.

"Ahamed is extremely critical and has been put on life support system. He has been shifted to the Trauma Centre ICU and is currently under close observation of doctors," a senior doctor at the Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital told IANS in the morning.

A team of three doctors, consisting head of cardiology Neeraj Pandit, head of anaesthesia Rajesh Sood and In-charge of Nursing facility R.S. Tonk, has been constituted to monitor Ahamed's condition.

Ahamed, a former Minister in the UPA government and a longtime Indian Union Muslim League MP from Kerala, was admitted to RML after he fell unconscious in Parliament's Central Hall during President Pranab Mukherjee's address.

The 78-year-old Ahamed has served as Minister of State for External Affairs in the UPA government and has been a Lok Sabha member from Malappuram in Kerala since 1991.
