Feast your eyes through virtual exhibitions from Cultural Village Foundation—Katara. From paintings to photographs, sculptures to films, the online display will take you to Doha skylines, women of the pandemic, the colour of voice and the prism.

Four exhibitions will run until December 31, and can be viewed through www.katara.net. Among included are “Women of the pandemic,” “Peak of Clouds,” “Voice of Colour,” and “Prism.” The exhibitions take you to a 3D gallery where works are displayed on walls, you can easily walk by pointing the cursor to where you want to go through.

Women of the pandemic

The “Women of the pandemic,” is a collaboration between Katara and Qatar American Institute for Culture (QAIC) aimed to reflect on how women have confronted the realities of life in a pandemic. Qatari and American female artists participated in the said exhibit.

These artists are Sarah Ahmad, Haifa Al Khuzai, Anna U Davis, Jawafer Rashid Al Mannai, Jordanne Wine, Abeer Al Kuwari, Alexandra N Sherman, and Maryam Abdulla Al Khaldi.

According to QAIC, this exhibition is “an opportunity for artistic dialogue and reflection on a global shared crisis and issues of significance to women empowerment through film, sculpture, photography, and painting.”

Let’s go high where the clouds are, the “Peak of Clouds” contains a range of images of Doha landmarks from different areas highlighting the splendour of Doha city, thus the title of the exhibit. The images where photographed from high places.

Qatari photographer Abdulla Salem Srour took these photos. And some of his works here were presented in the Paris Exhibition and Public Works Authority’s “Under the microscope” virtual exhibition, both happened in 2020.

Voice of Colour

“Voice of Colour” exhibit by Kuwaiti artist May Al Saad takes you on a view of her 30 paintings bearing exceptional aesthetic details highlighted through her use of vibrant colours. It is layered in such a way that the images convey the subjects’ feelings and the beauty of the dances.

The paintings offer a glimpse into the peculiarity of life in Gulf societies, embodied the nobility of traditional Gulf folklore, and reflected the rich heritage the region.

Prism

The “Prism” will take you to artist’s Falah Al Saeedi artworks that transform reality with all its contradiction to a harmonious place and time framed on a canvas.

He began painting at the age of eight, and graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts with honours. He held his first personal exhibition at the Hall of the Institute of Fine Arts in 1995, and his second in 1998. Today, his works can be found all over the region of the Middle East from Dubai to Qatar.
