Doha: Faleh Suwead Al Ajami astride Ambre De Beaufour displayed phenomenal performance to clinch the Big Tour victory as sixth round of the 14-leg Qatar Equestrian Tour - Longines Hathab concluded yesterday.  

Al Ajami and the 12-year-old bay mare remained perfect throughout the tough contest, clocking times of 28.72sec and 32.17sec in the two phases to emerge winners at the Qatar Equestrian Federation’s Indoor Arena. 

Riding Crispo, Al Ajami also took fourth position in the event with times of 29.25 and 33.10, receiving penalty for four faults in the second phase. 

Mohammed Khalifa Albaker, who won the Medium Tour with 12-year-old Demilion on Friday, claimed second position in the QR45,000 event as he teamed up with 15-year-old Verona to complete the two phases in 28.74 and 35.62 in a flawless fashion. 

Ghanim Nasser Al Qadi, who rode 17-year-old S I E C Lonnie, secured third position with times of 29.61 and 37.69 without dropping a rail. 

Fourth round winner Sheikh Khalifa Al Thani, astride Ierland VDL, had to settle for fifth position after committing five faults during the two phases, which he completed in 31.18 and 35.03 respectively. 

Meanwhile, Jaber Rashid Al Amri was victorious in the Open Class yesterday following perfect rounds with 12-year-old Apollon Du Banney. 

The pair was fastest in both the rounds, completing the first phase in 39.11 before clocking 31.51 in the second phase. 

Ghanim Nasser Al Qadi, with 11-year-old bay gelding Callisto, finished as runner-up after a flawless show of 41.77 and 32.25. Albaker paired up with What A Pleasure to secure third position with faultless rounds of 44.22 and 32.93. Riding Jumbo, Albaker also claimed fifth position in the event, completing the rounds in 38.60 and 34.69.    

Maryam Ahmad Al Boinin, astride Vol De Nuit Tardonne, also showed flawless performance (43.33 and 33.50) to earn fourth position in the QR20,000 competition.
