Doha: Qatar Petroleum (QP) today announced the petrol and diesel prices for October. QP has retained the prices for premium grade petrol and diesel from last month, while super grade will cost 5 dirhams more.
The price list on QP website showed that premium grade petrol will cost QR1.70 per litre, the same as in September.
Super will be available for QR1.85 per litre, five dirhams more than September price of QR 1.80.
Diesel will cost QR1.85 per litre, the same as last month.
QP had reduced the price of petrol in September after it had increased it in August.
July had seen a big drop of 25 dirhams.
QP had kept the petrol prices unchanged in June, increased in May by 15 dirhams, in April by 25 dirhams and in March by 5 dirhams, while it was not changed in February. January saw a significant drop in prices as premium and super grade petrol were cheaper by 30 dirhams.
When the first list was announced in June 2016 the premium petrol was QR1.20 per litre, super QR1.30 per litre and diesel QR1.40 per litre.
In April 2016, the Ministry of Energy and Industry had started pegging the fuel prices to the international market and from September 2017, it is Qatar Petroleum who is announcing the monthly price list.
