Doha: The State of Qatar participated in the 38th meeting of the undersecretaries of the GCC ministries of youth and sports, which is the preparatory meeting for the 35th meeting of the Their Highnesses and Excellencies Ministers of Youth and Sports in the Cooperation Council States, scheduled to be held on Thursday.
The Ministry of Sports and Youth was represented in the virtual meeting by Advisor to the Minister of Sports and Youth H E Abdulrahman bin Musallam Al Dosari.
The meeting discussed a number of issues of interest in the youth sector, foremost of which is the follow-up to the implementation of the decisions and directives of the Supreme Council in the youth field, especially the Riyadh Declaration and the final statement issued by the 42nd session (Riyadh, December 2021) related to supporting, strengthening and encouraging the role of youth in developing relief, humanitarian and volunteer work.
The meeting reviewed the strategic plan of the GCC ministers of youth and sports, the updated operational plans of the technical committees of the Ministerial Committee for the period from (2022-2026) and the recommendations issued by them, in addition to the joint programs, activities and events that will be organized by the ministries of youth and sports.
The meeting also discussed international cooperation in the field of joint youth work, strategic partnerships and dialogues with brotherly and friendly countries and regional and international organizations in the youth field, in addition to the proposed mechanism for the honorees in the field of youth work and distinguished creative youth in the GCC countries.
The recommendations of the meeting will be presented to the 35th meeting of Their Highnesses and Excellencies the GCC Ministers of Youth and Sports.
