Doing online shopping during Ramadan and for Eid has become cheaper and easier as Qatar Post (Q-Post) yesterday announced a significant reduction in charges of shipment, home delivery and other services.

Q-Post has slashed shipment charges by 35 percent on ‘Connected’ which is its e-commerce service.

It has also launched a ‘super-saver bundle deal’ allowing customers to save up to 60 percent off the shipment charges where costumers get a local PO Box address, US and UK addresses and up to 50 percent on Home Delivery service.

Q-Post announced that VISA holding customers can get 35 percent off on shipping base charges and 25 percent for non-VISA holders by registering to ‘Connected’, Qatar Post’s e-commerce service available at this link: www.connected.qa.

Talking to The Peninsula, Maud Daniel, Head of Marketing and Communications said that last year in Ramadan deal ‘Connected’ service was not included.

“Now the residents of Qatar have no excuse to not avail Qatar Post’s services or using ‘Connected’ for online shopping as the company has also started home delivery services recently,” she said.

She said that the discounts had been introduced to facilitate residents for online shopping for Ramadan, the holy month in which people used to give gifts to the family and friends.

“They can purchase from any e-commerce platform and the items will be delivered at their doorstep,” she said, adding that Qatar Post had also signed partnership deals with Singapore Post and Turkish Post for expanding e-commerce services which would be materialised soon.

Khalid Al Emadi, Qatar Post Deputy Director of Sales & Marketing commented:

“Every year we notice a substantial increase of demand in postal services during Ramadan until Eid. Qatar Post is aiming to offer the best deals and discounts for local families, expatriates, workers, and businesses.”
Maud Daniel further said that Qatar Post was proving that "it is changing" with every passing day. She said that the delivery of items purchased through ‘Connected’ service usually took five to eight days. In addition, Qatar Post is expanding its Ramadan offers with Money Transfer services.

Q-Post is expanding its Ramadan offers with Money Transfer service offering the best rates to send money to the following countries: Tunisia, Morocco, Mauritania, Djibouti, Bangladesh, Philippines, Oman, said the statement issued by Q-Post.

On Money Transfer service, Daniel told The Peninsula that Philippines and Oman had been recently added to the list of countries for which service was available. “Money Transfer service is relatively a new initiative of the Q-Post and very soon we are set to add more countries to the existing list,” she added.

The bundle deal, Money Transfer service and "Connected" offers are valid until June 30, 2017. Khalid Al Emadi, Qatar Post Deputy Director of Sales & Marketing said: “Our Ramadan offers are our way to give back to customers and make sure they can connect, share and exchange with their loved ones, whether they are based in Qatar or abroad. We hope that our current and potential customers will make the most of the holy month with the support of Qatar Post.”
