DOHA: Qatar (A) won both their games to book their place in the quarter-finals in the Snooker Asian Team Championship yesterday.
Qatar (A), which consists of Ahmed Saif, Bashar Hussain and Mohsin Bukshaisha beat Singapore and Saudi Arabia 3-0 respectively.
Qatar (A) will join India, Thailand, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran and UAE.
The last quarter-final spot will be contested by China and Iraq.
Qatar (B), which consists of the Al Obaidli brothers, Khamis, Mohanna and Ali, suffered defeats in their Group C matches.
Qatar (B) were beaten by Thailand 3-0, before suffering the same scoreline defeat against Afghanistan.
Sixteen entries were confirmed for this compeition which is hosted by the Qatar Billiards and Snooker Federation.
