Faizal, Philip and Tamoor bag top honours

Faizal Khan, Philip and Tamoor Sajjad claimed top honours for their remarkable performances at the recently-concluded Qatar Airways Cricket Tournament. The trio along with other players were awarded trophies at a prize distribution ceremony held this weekend at Doha Marriott Hotel.
Faizal who scored a total of 381 runs for Al Feroz Youngsters in 8 matches was declared the Best-Batsman-of-the-Tournament while CBQ’s Philip who took 17 wickets in 7 matches was named as the Best-Bowler-of-the-Tournament.
Tamoor, who represented Galfar Al Misnad won the Best-All-rounder-of-the Tournament award for his 215 runs and 21 wickets from a total of 8 matches.

Galfar Al Misnad, led by Qatari vice-captain Mohammed Rizlan shared the trophy with Al Feroz Youngsters after the final was tied with both the teams scoring 224 runs each. The prize distribution ceremony was also attended by the Qatar Rugby, Hockey and Cricket Federation (QRHCF) President Youssef Jaham Al Kuwari who distributed prizes among the players.
Youssef Jaham praised the commitment of domestic players and hoped for a better future of the game in the country.
“We have many teams in Qatar which are playing quality cricket at domestic level,” he said.
“Our national team is playing well and I am hopeful the standards will be raised further as a lot of national team's aspirants are performing at domestic level,” he added.        
Manzoor Ahmed, Manager Cricket Operations along with Qatar Cricket Association management members – Gul Khan, Syed Hassan Raza, Aminul Islam, Mohammed Amjad Baig, Asif Raza, Jamshaid Ahmed and Shahzad were also present.
Meanwhile, Manzoor thanked the top management of Pak Shama School for providing net practice facilities to Qatar national team which is preparing for the eight-nation ICC World League Division 5 to be held in South Africa in September.    
Qatar got elevated to the event after winning the ICC World Cricket League Asia Division 1 earlier this month in Thailand.
