DOHA: The 150th birthday of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, Father of the Nation of India falls on October 2, 2018.
In respect to Mahatma Gandhi, the international community also observe the day as the “International Day of Non-Violence”. Indian Cultural Centre is organising different events to commemorate the occasion.
In order to spread the message of non-violence and on the life and lessons of Mahatma Gandhi, a quiz competition was held on September 25, at ICC’s Ashoka Hall. The quiz was attended by very enthusiastic community members where adults and children participated. All teams were given participation certificates. These prizes were sponsored by Jumbo Electronics. The Competitions was very informative, enriching and entertaining, which all participants and audience alike appreciated.
ICC President Milan Arun welcomed the audience and quiz was conducted by ICC Head of Finance Girish Jain. The event was attended by community leaders Hassan Chougule, Chairman, ICC Advisory Council; K M Varghese, IBPC President; Kala Gopal, IBPC Vice-President and Habibul Nabi, ISC General Secretery.
On October 2, a public function will be conducted at ICC Ashoka Hall in which Ambassador of India to Qatar P Kumaran will be the Chief Guest and various cultural programs also will be staged. The winners will be awarded during this occasion.
