Los Angeles--The Boston Bruins traded struggling forward Milan Lucic to the Los Angeles Kings on Friday for a first round NHL draft pick and two highly-rated prospects, including 25-year-old goaltender Martin Jones.
The Bruins will receive Los Angeles' first-round pick (No. 13 overall), Jones and defensive prospect Colin Miller for veteran Lucic.
Lucic finished with just 18 goals in 81 games last season, his lowest total in a non-lockout season since 2009-10.
Boston already acquired Calgary's first-round pick (No. 15 overall) as well as a pair of second-round selections (Nos. 45 and 52) in exchange for defenseman Dougie Hamilton earlier Friday.
The Bruins also traded the rights to forward Carl Soderberg to Colorado on Thursday. Soderberg signed a five-year deal with the Avalanche on Friday.
The US media reported the Bruins retained nearly half of Lucic's salary to make the deal possible. Lucic is entering the final year of his three-year, $18 million contract.
A second-round draft pick of the Bruins in 2006, Lucic has compiled 139 goals over 566 games spanning eight seasons in Boston and was a member of their 2011 Stanley Cup championship team.
