Doha: The two airports in the country, Doha International Airport and Hamad International Airport will operate to its maximum capacity to receive over 16,000 spectators and football fans daily across the globe for the most prestigious tournament in the world, FIFA World Cup.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, H E Akbar Al Baker said that Doha International Airport will be processing over 5,000 to 6,000 football fans, while Hamad International Airport – between 8,000 to 10,000 every day.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Qatar Airways and four Gulf Airlines yesterday wherein flydubai will bring up to 2,700 fans per day, with 30 daily rotations; Kuwait Airways will bring 1,700 fans with its 10 daily rotations; Oman Air is set to bring 3,400 fans where it has 24 daily rotations; and Saudia meanwhile will bring up to 10,000 fans with up to 30 daily rotations.
