Doha: Qatar Rail announced that Doha Metro will resume services on Fridays and Saturdays from Friday, May 28.
As the country plans to gradually lift the Covid-19 curbs, Qatar Rail stated that Doha Metro, metrolink and metroexpress will resume services on weekends and will operate at 30% capacity.
Yesterday Qatar Cabinet announced gradual lifting of Covid-19 precautionary measures, reopening the country as the cases have been steadily decreasing. As part of the reopening Cabinet okayed metro services and public transport services not exceeding 30% of the capacity throughout the week, taking into account the closure of places designated for smoking, and not allowing food and drink to be consumed.
Since April 2021, Doha Metro had been operating at 20% capacity on weekdays, with the services suspended on weekend to prevent the spread of Covid-19 second wave.
