Doha: Famous Indonesian Quran reciter Sheikh Jaafar Abdulrahman passed away while reciting verses from the holy book during an official ceremony in the presence of Indonesia's Minister for Social Affairs Khofifah Indar Parawansa.
In a video that went viral on social media the well-respected reciter in Indonesia collapsed while reciting verses from Al-Mulk chapter. He continued reciting from the Quran until the medical team arrived and removed him on a stretcher.
Condolences were pouring in from all over the world and some users were saying that it was a very “honorable way to die”.
